經過多個月的跟進後(見:48 and 78 巴士改動 Rt.48 and Rt.71 Bus),71號巴士的縮短路線及加密班次終於過了最後一關:繼巴士公司同意我提出的加密班次建議後,在之後的會議中也再次重申雖然雖短路線,但不會將巴士調到其他路線,間接可令班次由約20分鐘加密至13分鐘。在5月8日與運輸署的會議中,署方也同意巴士公司的安排。新安排和48號繞經深灣一樣,將在7月落實。
如單張所指,長遠而言我會爭取71號巴士繞經深灣或以深灣為總站(見:黃竹坑巴士總站搬遷及清拆進度 Demolition of WCH Est and Removal of Bus Terminal),以配合黃竹坑巴士總站明年搬遷到其對面停車場的安排,因為那個停車場太小,我擔心容易令交通更形惡化。
單張後面的內容我早前已在網誌上滙報了,因為大部份居民不會來這個網誌了解進展,故這次印出來,希望更多居民了解我的地區工作。詳見:惠福道增加路燈 Lightening the Welfare Road
The bus company accepted my suggestion of improving the Rt.71 frequency some months ago, and it's approved and confirmed by the Transport Department in the meeting we had on 8 May. The new timetable will be about every 13 minutes from July, compare to 20 minutes in present, it certainly will improve the public transport service. (Ref. 48 and 78 巴士改動 Rt.48 and Rt.71 Bus)
I'll fight for the bus Rt. 71 serving via Shum Wan and even setting the terminus there, in order to coordinate with the removal of the WCH bus terminal. (Ref.:黃竹坑巴士總站搬遷及清拆進度 Demolition of WCH Est and Removal of Bus Terminal).

5 部車行13 分鐘一班, 即係 65 分鐘一個循環. 到時班次穩定性未必比新巴 4 號做 60 分鐘一個循環好好多
