Organ donation saves lives! I joined the Youth Committee of my party to promote the organ donation in Causeway Bay yesterday.
We Chinese have traditional thinking that we must preserve the whole body after we die, I think it's one of the main reasons that less people donate their organ in HK.
It seemed the above thinking is not dominating any more. I observed that people who knew what we were doing accepted the organ donation, especially for young people. They got our leaflets and came up to get the donation card.
The traditional way of thinking and attitude changes with time. Chinese people don't accept cremation some decades ago, but it's generally accepted. We still need to do a lot of work to make organ donation acceptable by the society, in order to help those who longing for the organ transplant operation.
How much love could be? what do you think somebody who passes away donate his heart to the one he loves in order to extend her life?
Too bad, the board was not succesfful to attract the passerby..... I thought it could attract lovers.
