黃竹坑私營大學計劃無疾而終 Land for Education or Land for Residential?

可惜現在計劃在無聲無息中消失了。因近年政府面對強大的民意壓力，要求提供更多市區住宅用地，我擔心這塊本來規劃作教育的土地最後會變成地產項目，且會對區內交通造成難以承受的壓力。

In the 2009 Policy Address, two pieces of lands in WCH are decided to develop private tertiary education and private hospital respectively. The land for 

private hospital is located close to the St. Paul Primary School, and the land for 

 tertiary education is located between Police School and the former Shue Yan College at Police School Road. The progress of private hospital is quite good, over 30 applications had been submitted to the Gov't. But for the land for education, it causes me disappointment and worry, that no application had been submitted to the Gov't. 

I worry the land for education will be changed to residential, because the high pressure of land supply in urban area. You will find my worry is sound if you keep reading this blog, because after the completion of the South island Line of MTR, WCH will turn into a new center of Southern District, land developer had tried many times to apply for changing the land use, they applied to build residential project at the site of the present home for the aged, land for hotel and even the marine club!
