「打破烏氣，環保靠你」 改善空氣污染 Fresh Air Wanted

空氣污染日益嚴重，政府總是後知後覺，近年因為有跨國公司員工因香港空氣差而不願來港工作，政府才稍微重視，才將空氣質素視為"經濟"政策之一，似乎我們市民平日的健康反倒是其次。試想，如果計算經濟損失，市民健康受損而產生的社會成本更大吧。可惜，政府往往有這種本末倒置的思維和政策。

明天甘乃威將就香港的空氣污染問題在立法會提出動議辯論，倡議政府按世界衛生組織的標準，設立類似暴雨警報系統的「煙霧警報系統」，在空氣污染嚴重超標時，可考慮讓學童停課，保障幼童健康。

為此，今天我和甘乃威、郭家麒醫生、羅健熙和嚴家榮等在立法會門外，
舉行「打破烏氣，環保靠你」活動，要求政府盡快改善空氣質素，保障市民健康。

南區空氣比其他區較佳，但如海怡和華貴等地區面向南丫島發電廠、田灣英泥廠等污染物源頭，空氣污染問題值得關注。

The air pollution is getting worse in HK, there were reports about some foreign workers don't want to work in HK because of the air pollution, until then this issue was seriously brought to the gov't attention. But isn't it weired that the gov't thinks the foreign workers are more important than local citizen? Why don't the gov't listen to our voice?

 

The gov't hasn't done enough to protect the environment and improve our quality of life. It's why there are huge demand from the society to urge the gov't to do a better job. And it's why Legislative Councillor Mr Kam Nai Wai will raise a motion in Legco to improve the air. Mr Kam suggests to set up a system like the flood and typhoon signals to alarm citizen about the degree of air pollution in order to prevent deceases and protect health, especially the children. Mr Kam further suggests that the children don't need to go to kindergarten and school when the pollution is extreme worst.

 

And it's why Mr Kam and Dr Kwok Ka kei, Lo Kin Hei, Yim Ka Wing and I had a gimmick today and released our survey to the public to raise public concerns.
