本周四(18日)國際學校就開始分批入學了，上周五港鐵實行了新的交通改道(見：http://hk.myblog.yahoo.com/our_wch/article?mid=10852;http://hk.myblog.yahoo.com/our_wch/article?new=1&mid=11101)，嚴陣以來國際學校私家車帶來的交通挑戰。
The three international schools are going to begin their new school year from this Thur, the school buses and cars of the schools and parents bringing a lot of traffic pressure to Wong Chuk Hang, and it may become worse because of the MTR SIL project(background: http://hk.myblog.yahoo.com/our_wch/article?new=1&mid=11092;http://hk.myblog.yahoo.com/our_wch/article?new=1&mid=11101)
A new phase of temporary traffic management scheme has been implemented since last Friday to take up this traffic challenge.
Drivers can right turn to the Heung Yip Rd from Nam Long Shan Road from last Friday, in order to speed up the traffic flow and improve the situation at Nam Long Shan Rd and Shum Wan Rd.

No wonder! On 12 Aug, around 11am, Shum Wan Road was so so so jam. Wish you were there!!! It took me 45 mins to get from Broadview Court out to the main road in Wong Chu Kang in a taxi!!! Problems lie in: (1) Traffic light at the junction near the sewage canal and the main road in Wong Chu Kang change TOO FAST. After a long 2 mins. wait, then 1 or 2 car manage to pass thru' then it turned red again. (2) Cars kept pouring in from 警校道, then turn into Shum Wan Road, and join in the jam! (3) Our dear policemen manipulated the traffic light which make the jam even worst (4) Road workers blocked off 1 lane on the left at the sewage canal but there was NO road work at all!
Since then, I never dare to go out at 11am, disastrous! Any ways we can prevent such bad jam from happening again?

[版主回覆08/30/2011 12:30:00]Hi Ms Wong, Usually the traffic jam happens during 0715 to 0745 and around 1445, and sometimes around the lunch hour. I wonder why there's serious jam on 12 Aug. How's the traffic ater the MTR changed the traffic scheme at Heung Yip Rd? The traffic light problem should be solved after the implementation of this amended scheme.
